Not buying new would seem to make sense, as all manufactured products cost energy to make. The energy cost displayed on a product would be a useful guide.

We just bought a 1998 Chrysler Concorde 4 door sedan for $3,000. I can find all sorts of sites telling me how much it should cost now, but not a site telling me how much it was worth brand new in 1998.
I was thinking around $21,000
Anyone know any sites that could tell me?
Yes, I knooooow that it doesn't matter how much it costs, I was just curious.

I drive an Audi, A4, and I recently messed up the driver's side door. I don't know too much about cars, it's dented pretty badly and pushed in, any guesses on how much it would cost to fix? or to buy a new door?
